The Full-Width Frontal Deformable Barrier was developed by Cellbond on behalf of TRL (Transport Research Laboratory, UK) from 2001 as part of the VC-Compat project. More recently, FIMCAR also worked on frontal compatibility and carried out testing with this barrier. This barrier has been developed to work alongside the EEVC Frontal Offset Barrier to fulfil needs for research on the compatibility of vehicle fronts or, in other terms, their aggressivity or partner protection.
