Overview
Pedestrian lower legform impactors are used to evaluate pedestrian protection offered by passenger vehicles in case of impact. It contains a biomechanically based femur, tibia and knee configuration with biofidelic attributes.

The impactor leg is a complex assembly of parts, developed and fine tuned to comply with specific performance criteria that have been developed over many years. Its various plastic and metal parts are machined with high accuracy. Prior to use the impactor undergoes certification testing using a pendulum test and a linear inverse impact test. For testing a neoprene protective cover is added. It is used with instrumentation making it a sophisticated measurement tool.
