Cellbond to host SIMBIO-M Conference 2024

Christophe Bastien (Coventry University), Michel Behr (Université Gustave Eiffel), Kambiz Kayvantash (Hexagon) and Peter Zioupos (University of Hull) are pleased to announce the SIMBIO-M 2024 conference, which will be held on the 19th and 20th of June 2024 in Huntingdon, at Cellbond’s Head Office, iMET, near Cambridge.

This conference is organized every other year, aiming at introducing new technologies, advances and tools in the various fields of Simulation in Biosciences and Multiphysics, notably in the areas of Biomechanics, Biomaterials, and Biomedicine.

While the conference will concentrate mainly on the developments and applications of biomedical models, and novel simulation techniques (such as stochastic modelling, optimisation-based model identification solutions, and machine learning techniques for artificial intelligence implementations), it will also promote the state-of-the-art in bio-sciences and biotechnologies.

As usual, the focus is on research and in particular introduction of young researchers into the application world.

The SIMBIO-M 2024 Conference will focus on the following topics:

Technologies and Innovations
Materials, Additive Manufacturing, Synthetic and biological materials, Motion capture/computer vision
Transport Application
Injury mechanisms and criteria assessment, Human Virtual Assessment Forensic analysis, Accident reconstruction ,Connected autonomous vehicles, HMI Safety
Industrial applications
Optimisation techniques, Sports applications, Comfort and Ergonomics, Virtual testing and validation
Healthcare Applications
Surgery planning, Imaging and AI, Prosthetics and Orthotics, Biomedical devices

The conference will include a tour of the Cellbond ATD test facility, to see crash test dummy calibration and design, highlighting ‘THE MAKING OF HUMAN SURROGATES’.

We look forward to welcoming all international participants, from young researchers to industrial end-users, numerical analysts to software developers, and research funding organisations to medical specialists.
