ATDs

Anthropomorphic test devices (ATDs) or crash test dummies are used to study the human response under impacts. Applications include vehicle crashes, sports and athletics, and falls. The dummies mimic relevant physical properties of the body including shape and deformation characteristics. Various types of sensors are used throughout the devices to record loadings. Measured data may be correlated to risk of injury sustained.

Dummies are used to assess and optimise the performance of protective devices like vehicle restraint systems, helmets, and protective sports gear. Given the complexities involved dedicated designs exist for various applications.

Cellbond offers various dummies and making continuous efforts to expand on its product range. Equivalent FE models are offered by our partners.
