Cellbond, world-renowned designers and manufacturers of vehicle passive safety test equipment, are Gold Sponsors of the Automotive Safety Summit 2018, in Shanghai, China, and will be presenting and exhibiting at the event, providing updates on theTHOR-50M Dummy, the MPDB Barrier and the new aPLI.
The conference, which takes place on 16th and 17th July 2018, is organised by carhs GmbH, and brings together over 300 automotive safety experts to discuss the latest requirements and innovations in active and passive safety. Accompanied by a comprehensive trade show with global suppliers of development technologies and services, the summit is one of the leading events in the Automotive Safety calendar.
This year the event will feature keynotes from international experts, presentations on requirements and innovations, the latest developments in testing, and simulation for active and passive systems in the fields of active and passive safety. Cellbond’s ATD Business Development Manager, Paul Lemmen, will be delivering a talk on Cellbond’s ATD products, which focusses on the new aPLI and THOR-50M Dummy, on Tuesday 17th July.

The THOR-50M dummy has been adopted, alongside the MPDB Frontal Offset barrier, by Euro NCAP for their Moving Progressive Deformable Barrier Test from 2020 onwards. Cellbond are the only company worldwide who manufacture and supply both products, in line with the company ethos of providing outstanding customer service. THOR will also be used by Australian NCAP, and is under consideration for other NCAP programmes worldwide for introduction over the next few years.
Cellbond’s aPLI and THOR-50M Dummy were unveiled at their 30th Anniversary Technical Conference in Huntingdon in April. They were on show at the 13th PraxisConference Pedestrian Protection at BASt, Bergisch Gladbach, Germany, on 20th-21st June 2018, and will be at the Automotive Safety Summit in Shanghai, China on 16th-17th July 2018, IRCOBI Conference in Athens on 12th -14th September, and Automotive Testing Expo in Novi, Michigan, US on 23rd-25th October.
